Scholarships

Barrie Minor Baseball is pleased to once again be offering scholarship awards to members who turn 18 or have taken a gap year for the 2024/2025 school year. The Association will award up to three individual scholarships of $500 to recognize members with outstanding dedication to baseball, excellent character and significant community involvement.

We are looking for members  who turn 18  or have taken a gap year for the 2024/2025 school year this year with the following qualities:

• Barrie Minor Baseball involvement
• Positive role model
• Excellent character
• Volunteering and demonstrated community involvement
• Achieved academic success

Am I eligible for the Barrie Minor Baseball Association’s Scholarship Award? Yes, if you:

• Are born in 2007
• Are beginning post-secondary studies at an accredited university, college, or trade school.
• Will be starting your program any time after 2025 graduation, up to and no later than September 2026.
• Are a current Barrie Minor Baseball Association member in good standing, including (but not limited to): house league players, select players, rep players, umpires or coaches.
• Have demonstrated involvement in Barrie Minor Baseball Association.

How much is the Scholarship Award?

• There are up to three individual awards of $500, awarded to each recipient as selected by the Barrie Minor Baseball Association Awards Committee.
• A cheque will be made payable to the post-secondary institution, upon confirmation of registration in an eligible post-secondary program, no later than September 2026.

How and when do I apply?

• Applicants must complete the online application form.
• Applicants are encouraged to provide sufficient detail for all questions to assist the selection committee, including a description of their involvement with Barrie Minor Baseball Association and other community involvement. 
• Online applications must be submitted by July 25, 2025.
