We have a HEAT WAVE on our hands! Here’s a few tips to stay safe:
🥤 DRINK WATER
Hydration is key. Bring a full water bottle and drink regularly throughout practices and games, don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
🧴 WEAR SUNSCREEN
Protect your skin by applying sunscreen before heading to the field and reapplying throughout the day.
🌳 TAKE SHADE BREAKS
Cool off in the shade between innings, practices, or whenever you need a break from the sun.
🌡️ KNOW THE SIGNS
Dizziness, headache, nausea, confusion, and excessive fatigue can all be signs of heat-related illness. If you or a teammate aren’t feeling well, tell a coach or parent immediately.
LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER
Keep an eye on teammates, friends, coaches, and family members. A simple check-in can make a big difference on hot days.
The safety of our players, coaches, volunteers, officials, and families is always our top priority.
